"COLVINEX CORPORATION" 40's MODEL
フライトジャケット愛好家にとって、特にその世界を面白くさせているのがコマーシャル・ヴァージョンの存在と言えよう。官給品の物とはディテールが異なっていたり、素材が異なっていたりと様々だが、その数は非常に少ない為、稀少性が高いものとされている。
今回復刻するCOLVINEX社のB-15も当時コマーシャル・ヴァージョンの１つとして生産された。COLVINEX社は大戦前後に電熱線を有するフライトスーツ等を製造していたメーカーで、民間向けとしてB-15を製造していたことが非常に興味深い。官給品のB-15は、表地の素材はコットンツイルだが、このモデルは海軍のデッキジャケットに見られるコットングログランが使用され、オフセットされているはずのフロントファスナーはセンターに移動されている。さらに、襟裏のチンストラップは革製で胸元には当時着用者が手を加えたと思われるホイッスル用のループが設けられている。

The love of commercial version flight jackets is especially interesting around the world. Differing from the government issue, the commercial version is most rare because of the different materials and rare characteristics of each jacket. It is interesting that Colvinex Company produced flight suits with electro-thermal wiring for warmth. The B-15 Commercial Version differed from the Government issue B-15 because of difference in material, rare characteristics and was produced in limited quantities for the consumer market. This model uses cotton grosgrain which was seen in the Deck Jackets used by the Navy and the front fastener is moved to the center. Also provided is a whistle which has been attached to the chin strap at the back of the collar hangs around the wearer's chest.
